This is book #2 in the Cuba saga, and I definitely enjoyed it more than the first (though “Next Year in Havana” was great as well! I loved Beatriz, her love for her twin brother, her dedication to making a difference and refusal to concede to anyone else’s restrictions. I learned so much about Cuba’s history, US relations during Kennedy’s term, etc.
As a side note, I know I always have notable lines I list. I bookmarked a bunch of pages to jot down later, but totally forgot to write them down before I returned my book to the library! Ah, well. Let’s just say this book was amazing, I loved the different love stories, and the thrill of working with the CIA. I’m going to have to read the 3rd book now!
PS-Check out The Grey Cafe. The owners are fantastic, the space is perfect for reading, and the coffee is delicious (I liked the rose latte)!
